Terms of use

Last updated: October 8, 2026

About these terms

These terms cover your use of the Lume website at lumeagents.dev and, when it launches, the Lume Remote service. The Lume desktop and mobile apps are free software and are licensed under the MIT license published in the project repository, which takes precedence for the app’s source code.

By using the website or the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

The Lume app

  • The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, as stated in the MIT license.
  • Lume works with AI agents that you choose and run yourself. You are responsible for what those agents do, for the permissions you approve and for complying with the terms of the agent providers.
  • Lume is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any other agent provider. Their names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify compatibility.

Lume Remote

These terms apply once Lume Remote is available. Until then, only the waitlist exists, and joining it does not oblige you or us to anything.

  • Lume Remote lets your paired devices reach each other through a Relay. Your content is encrypted end to end and your history stays on your computer.
  • It is a paid subscription. The price, currency and billing period are shown before you buy. Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record, under Paddle’s terms. The subscription renews until you cancel; you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds follow the policy shown at checkout and the consumer rights that apply to you, including the right of withdrawal under Brazilian law where it applies.
  • We may change prices and features, with advance notice for current subscribers. A change in price applies from the next billing period.
  • We do not promise uninterrupted service. We will work to keep it available and will tell you about planned interruptions when we can.

Acceptable use

Do not use Lume Remote to break the law, to attack or overload the service or other people’s systems, to try to read other users’ traffic, to resell access, or to bypass limits and security measures. We may suspend access that does this.

Your account and devices

You are responsible for your account, for the devices you pair and for keeping them secure. Because your content is encrypted with keys we do not hold, we cannot recover it if you lose your keys: you would need to pair your devices again.

Open source

The Relay and the service’s server code will be published under the AGPL-3.0 license, so you can run your own. Using our hosted service is covered by these terms; running your own is covered by that license.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits or lost data, or for actions taken by the agents you run. Our total liability for the paid service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the event. Nothing here limits rights that the law does not allow to be limited, such as consumer rights.

Ending the service

You can stop using Lume Remote and cancel at any time. We may end or suspend your access if you break these terms, and we will tell you why when we can. If we discontinue the paid service, we will give notice and refund the unused period.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will show the date above; for material changes to the paid service we will notify subscribers in advance. These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Questions: contact@lumeagents.dev.
